Room Reservations

A block of rooms for conference participants has been reserved at the government rate of $139/night (tax included when using a government credit card). To make reservations, please call the hotel directly at 1-800-424-8292. To ensure that you get the government rate, inform the reservations office that you are with the "EPA Community Involvement Conference." Reservations must be made by July 27, 2000.

The Holiday Inn—Financial District is centrally located within San Francisco's Financial District, and is near to Chinatown, Embarcadero Center, and North Beach. A cable car line is only two blocks away from the hotel and the hotel is surrounded by popular restaurants, shops, and night spots.

Getting There

Transportation options between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and the Holiday Inn—Financial District are provided below.

Taxi
Taxi service is available to and from the airport and the Holiday Inn—Financial District. The distance between the airport and the hotel is approximately 14 miles and all taxi fares are metered. The fare between the the airport and the hotel is between $26 to $32. Estimated travel time is 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic.

For a taxi ride from the airport, refer to the Taxi Information display on the lower terminal level, center island, at the yellow column in the taxi boarding areas. For a taxi ride from the hotel, ask the hotel concierge desk.

Airport Shuttle Service
Door-to-Door vans provide shared-van service to and from the airport. Approximate fares are between $10 and $13 per person. There are many different shuttle services that operate from the airport. Passengers arriving at the airport after 11:00 pm are advised to call a shuttle service ahead of time for pick up at the airport. Rental Car
SFO's new Rental Car Center allows travelers to pick up and drop off rental cars at one convenient, central location. Most major rental operate from the Center and their rental car counters are located on the first floor of the SFO Rental Car Center. A Rental Car Shuttle bus system operates between the terminals and the Rental Car Center every 3-5 minutes, 24-hours a day from the upper-level center island of the Airport Terminals.

Driving Directions
From SFO: Take US 101 North to 180 E toward the Bay Bridge/Oakland/Seventh Street. Take the Fourth Street exit toward Embarcadero. Merge onto Bryant Street and then turn left onto 3rd Street. 3rd Street becomes Kearney and the hotel is located at 750 Kearney Street.
